LIKE YOU SAID YOU'D BE
After her latest project is canceled due to uncontrollable circumstances, Nicole turns to the music in her head as she searches for an escape from her disappointment.
IN ACTUALITY [INSTRUMENTAL]
I had the pleasure of composing the instrumental around "In Actuality", Max Bacani's original song for piano and voice. I orchestrated the audio of the actress's performance of "In Actuality", extending it into a swelling string-laden, synth-bathed composition. I used a toy-piano-esque harp harmonic and glockenspiel combination to accentuate changes in Nicole's fantasy. Finally, dirty amped guitar and hints of bass drum follow the rhythm of the grocery store heist amidst dancing snippets, creating a heartbeat for the scene.
DOWNCAST DEPARTURE
After Nicole receives the news of her project cancellation, she processes the news on her walk home. I overlapped grimy synths with low, screeching electric guitar lines to stretch the length of the journey, increasing the depth of Nicole's "forever feeling".
